Cager, Ross Ink NFL Deals With Giants, Saints
HAMMOND- Former Southeastern Louisiana football standouts Earl Cager and Byron Ross, who were each a part of the team's gridiron revival in 2003, each reached deals with a pair of NFL clubs.
Cager signed a free agent deal with the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants while Ross received a tryout offer with the New Orleans Saints.
Cager, a 6-5, 330-pound guard, started all 11 games for the Lions last season and was a second-team All-Southland Conference selection. The New Orleans native and former St. Augustine High product reports to the team's mini-camp on May 8 after receiving attention from several NFL clubs. read more
